Vintage Style Locket Pendant Silver Amethyst

Gorgeous Taxco sterling silver locket pendant. This is a beautiful reproduction of vintage pieces made in the 1940s-1950s. I had some of these original pieces when I was starting my business on the internet, but little by little, they were disappearing from the market due to the lack of artisans who create this kind of work from the golden era of silver jewelry making in Taxco, Mexico.
But lucky for me, I found a group of young artisans that learned this art from an older generation of silversmiths, and VOILA! Here we have them again. Beautiful as ever. 

This specific pendant carries a small opening at the centerpiece, used for small photos, pills, locks of hair, etc. The whole piece is highly decorated with swirls, spheres, and a delicate rope that surrounds the natural amethyst cabochon at the small, central opening.

It is also pretty substantial in weight, with a total of 47.2 grams. It is beautifully handcrafted and finished in the same fashion as the original ones from the 1950s. 
One more extra detail is that it was created with .950 silver, a better quality silver than the most common. 925.
