Taxco Silver Day of the Dead Earrings

Lovely silver earrings with a very clear "Day of the Dead" motif. These female skeletons are nicely decorated with multi flowers all around their hair and hands, which are in a praying position.

We call these pieces, "La Llorona Earrings" because of the famous, traditional song presented in the "Coco" movie from 2017, based on the Mexican Day of the Dead celebration.
Every single detail on these earrings is right on point, helping draw very clear shapes on the silver surface. There are a lot of carved lines and sections that let us identify very clearly every single fold, hair twirl, flower and lines in the skull.

You can also find a section of darker oxidized silver. Favorite technique used by some artisans to create depth and contrast within certain design compositions. This feature helps separating the skull and flowers from the long, wavy hair that carries as well a nice soft texture created by very subtle carved lines.
