Gorgeous solid silver "Dia de los Muertos" cuff bracelet with a wonderful, traditional Mexican illustration. The central shape on this piece is a "Catrina" a well known character in Mexican folklore.
This is definitely a perfect representation for "Dia de los Muertos" where Catrinas are all over the place. This handcrafted cuff carries several features that I would like to highlight.
All the shapes on the surface are overlaid, almost floating, dancing all over the dark, oxidized silver surface, that serves as a canvas for these amazing figures.
The centerpiece as I mentioned before is a "Catrina" wearing a fancy and elaborated hat, representing another era, around the late 1800's or earlier 1900's.
There are also a couple little filigree like skulls on each side, surrounded by dancing flowers. The last subtle element that I would like to highlight, is the dented silver lines on the edges, that serve as frames for these wonderful story telling shapes. It is just the final touch to a very elaborated and amazing composition.
This artisan piece was created with solid silver, making it substantial in weight with a total of 64.3 grams. It carries a flawless craftsmanship. It is a beautifully finished piece of jewelry without a doubt!
